Fleetwood Mac: Why Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie SPLIT from the band in keeping with Mick | Music | Entertainment

In 1990, Fleetwood Mac launched their fifteenth studio Behind the Mask. And 30 years in the past right now, each Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie introduced they had been leaving the band on the finish of their world tour. Nicks had joined the band in 1975 along with her then boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham, whereas McVie had joined in 1970.

And now each girls had been leaving Fleetwood Mac, three years after Buckingham had.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the band’s publicist stated it was an amicable break up after heartfelt conversations.

And each stars needed to contribute to Fleetwood Mac’s subsequent album.

Of course, it’s been rumoured earlier than that their departure was sped up by Mick Fleetwood’s memoir Fleetwood: My Life and Adventures in Fleetwood Mac.

Towards the top of the 1990 tour, McVie stated: “In the previous few years, it has been extra of a band than it is ever been.

“I feel we spent extra time laughing in the previous few years than in prior years.

“That’s one factor that is held us collectively. But when the time comes for change, you recognize it, you are feeling it.

“Things cannot go on the identical as all the time. You go round in circles.”

While Nicks admitted: “We are all people and have our opinions, and till three years go by and I see the entire thing with no probability of getting again collectively, I’ll by no means imagine it is over.

“I actually imagine all the pieces is destined, and if we’re imagined to be collectively, we will probably be.”

Of course each did rejoin Fleetwood Mac in 1997 with Lindsey Buckingham after a two 12 months hiatus for the who band.

While McVie solely stayed a 12 months, each she and Nicks have been again within the band permenantly since 2014.
