Sophie Countess of Wessex’s Aquamarine Necklace tiara: Diadem video, footage, historical past

Sophie, 55, attended an opera gala on November 19, Monaco’s National Day, sporting the tiara. More not too long ago, Sophie wore the diadem on the wedding ceremony of Prince Carl Philip & Princess Sofia of Sweden, in 2015.

At its debut, this was solely the second tiara seen on Sophie at that time – the primary being her wedding ceremony tiara – and there was initially some hypothesis that her husband, Prince Edward, had some hand within the design.

This wouldn’t be past the realms of chance, as he did design her wedding ceremony necklace, but it surely was in actual fact created by a royal jeweller.

Believed to have been made by Collins and Sons, private jeweller to the Queen of England, the piece options an oval-cut aquamarine gemstone set into an Art Deco bandeau studded with diamonds.
